How to use Chromecast device

!IMPORTANT! – Chromecast is no longer supported on Apple devices

Chromecast is a small media streaming device that plugs into the HDMI port on your existing TV. Use your iPhone, iPad, Android phone, and tablet, to display the myPTVC app to the big screen.

How to cast: A quick start guide

       What you need to get started

  • A Chromecast device
  • Latest version of the Google Home app
  • A Google account
  • A display device with an HDMI input, for example, a high-definition television (HDTV)
  • A mobile device or tablet
  • The compatible mobile device or tablet must support a 5 GHz connection to set up Chromecast on a 5 GHz connection. Note: A WPA2-Enterprise network is not supported.
  • An internet connection
  • Access to a secure wireless network. Make sure you have the wireless network password handy.

Set up Chromecast or Chromecast Ultra

  1. Plug Chromecast into your TV, then connect the USB power cable to your Chromecast. Plug either the other end of the USB power cable into an open USB port on your TV OR into the included power adapter which you will then plug into a power outlet. Note: Only use the provided AC adapter.
  2. Install the Google Home app by downloading the Google Home app on your Chromecast-supported device.
  3. Make sure to connect your mobile device or tablet to the same Wi-Fi network that you intend to use to set up your Chromecast device.
    • If you’re setting up a Chromecast Ultra, you can also choose to connect it directly to your network using an Ethernet cable instead.
  4. Open Google Home.
  5. Follow the steps.
    • If you don’t see the steps to set up your Chromecast:
      1. At the top left of the Google Home app home screen, tap Add Set up device Set up new devices.
      2. Follow the remaining steps.
  6. Set up is successful. You’re all done!
